Overview

Located in the bustling hub of PJCC Petaling Jaya, AYAM GEPUK TRADISIONAL @ PJCC offers a soulful dive into classic Indonesian-Malay flavors centered around its signature dish, Ayam Gepuk. This humble restaurant champions tradition with a menu that balances simplicity and bold taste, making it a go-to spot for locals and visitors seeking authentic comfort food.

The star of the menu is undeniably the Ayam Gepuk—a tender, smashed fried chicken served alongside freshly steamed white rice and a vibrant medley of sides, including crisp cucumber, cabbage, tempeh, and tofu. The sambal, a fiery chili paste, commands attention here, bringing a punch that perfectly complements the savory, slightly dry texture of the chicken. Diners who appreciate bold, layered flavors will find the sambal notably memorable, especially given that refills of both rice and sambal are generously offered for dine-in guests.

One of the appealing aspects of AYAM GEPUK TRADISIONAL @ PJCC is its straightforward approach to traditional dishes. The space caters primarily to a casual crowd—office workers, families, and food enthusiasts who crave a quick yet hearty meal without fuss. The setting is unpretentious but efficient, reflecting the no-nonsense ethos of the brand itself.

Complementing the meal are a selection of traditional drinks, including refreshing lime-based beverages and aromatic Teh O Ais, which provide balance against the spicy sambal. These drinks elevate the experience, helping to cleanse the palate after each richly flavored bite.

Customer feedback underscores a few nuanced considerations: while the sambal consistently receives praise for its flavor and depth, some note that the chicken texture at PJCC may lean toward drier compared to other branches, and the tofu occasionally lacks the crispness that might complete the meal. However, these minor critiques do little to diminish the overall appeal of the dining experience.

In essence, AYAM GEPUK TRADISIONAL @ PJCC stands out for its dedication to delivering traditional Ayam Gepuk with honesty and care. It invites patrons to enjoy a straightforward, fulfilling meal steeped in regional culinary heritage, right in the heart of Selangor's commercial landscape.

A good place to eat at the PJCC area. The sambal is good and both the rice and sambal is refillable if you dine in. For improvements I do hope that the rice served is piping hot.
